I have worked closely with recruiters on countless occasions throughout my career and I can say without hesitation that Richard Nakano is by far the best. Let me explain why. Richard is much different than most others and this includes retained, in-house, contracted and freelancers.
Let’s face it, recruiters are sales people who are generally most interested in closing the sale and moving onto the next opportunity. They are out for a quick buck. Only interested in doing the least amount of work to get the deal closed. This is where Richard differs significantly. Richard is focused on finding the best fit for the job at hand even if it means putting in much more time from his side to make this a reality. Not only is he looking to make the best fit, he is looking to do this by minimizing the amount of work required by the hiring manager and company. Yes, this sometimes means more work up front by you to educate Richard on what the job entails and what exactly you are looking for. But this is time well spent, because in the long run, he understands you, what you want and what you expect so that he can find the right candidates. Once he has an eye for what you are looking for, he is extremely resourceful in finding people who are most likely to be the best fit. This means leaving no stone unturned. Richard doesn't just drop a stack of resumes on your desk. He carefully reviews and vets each resume and profile and personally talks to the top candidates to make sure they are the best fit before presenting them to you. What this means is an extremely high hit rate on prospective candidates brought to the hiring manager's attention. Once agreed on good candidates, Richard manages all of the logistics to make sure the experience is positive from every side of the table throughout the entire journey. This even includes candidates that don’t make the cut. During the process, Richard continues to learn and optimize the process as he better understands the needs and desires of the hiring manager and key stakeholders. Furthermore, Richard is quick to provide guidance and suggestions on company culture, competitive benefits, best practices and other retention and growth strategies.
Richard is a relationship manager who is in it for the long haul. As anyone that knows and/or has worked with me can attest, I have very high standards that are rarely met, and do not make recommendations lightly. That being said, when I am looking for help with finding my next employee, I go to Richard first.
Richard has a wide range of personal contacts in high tech industry; he takes time to understand job requirements and has the perseverance to succeed in a very competitive market. Richard had recruited a fist rate team for RGB Networks.
Having worked closely with him for a number of years, I'll attest that he is professional, resourceful and well respected by his peers and management.
